Judd Trump will have to be on top of his game if he is to remain unbeaten in the Premier League Snooker when he takes on Ronnie O’Sullivan this week.
The Premier League Snooker is a very popular event which features 10 of the world’s best snooker plays playing over a number of week’s and Thursday‘s installment comes from the Guildhall in Southampton with Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Ding Junhui and Neil Robertson all in action.
Each player will play on four of the ten nights in what will be a mini-tournament consisting of two semis and a final.
Players will pick up points for frames won and at the conclusion of the league section, the top four will advance to the play-offs which take place at Potters Leisure Resort over the 26th and 27th November.
The top clash in Thursday’s semi-finals sees two unbeaten stars go at it for the right to face Ding or Robertson in the final.
Trump, who has played in two tournaments so far, has yet to be beaten after winning event five with victories over Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens, before winning successive tournaments by taking out Ali Carter and Robertson to win event seven.
His opponenet, O’Sullivan, has only played in one tournament this campaign and he won that one in week four when he beat Stevens in the semi-final before going on to defeat Carter in the final.
The Rocket is the favourite to take this clash and can be backed at 8/13 with Bet365, while Trump can be backed at 13/10 to keep his unbeaten run going.
With these matches the first to win three frames, O’Sullivan is available at 11/4 with Sportingbet
to pick up a 3-2 success, while Trump is 9/2 with Stan James
to upset the fans favourite.
O’Sullivan is the overall favourite to win Group Eight with Bet365 and can be backed at 7/4, with Trump, Robertson and Ding all level on 3/1.
