With Premier League Snooker having a break this week the event will return for the eighth instalment on Thursday November 3 at the Guildhall in Southampton.

Event eight will see four of the best players in the tournament lock horns with each other with a place in the final that same evening up for grabs.

Defending Premier League champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is competing in only his second event this season and he will go up against talented youngster Judd Trump in a mouth-watering semi-final encounter.

O’Sullivan was successful in his only event so far as he won Week Four thanks to victories over Matthew Stevens and Ali Carter, while Trump is on the fire at the moment after winning both his events so far in Week Five and Seven.

The other semi-final sees Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui take to the table in what should be an intriguing game of snooker.

Robertson has had a mixed tournament so far, he failed to reach the final on Week One, before winning Week Five thanks to victories over John Higgins and his opponent in Southampton, Ding, before losing to Trump in the final of Week Seven.

Ding, however, has also won one Premier League event after winning Week Six with wins over Jimmy White and Ali Carter. This was third time lucky for Ding after losing to Robertson in the final of Week Three and losing his semi-final clash against Carter a week later.

These four competing in Southampton are the four hot favourites to win the tournament with O’Sullivan leading the way at 2/1 with Bet365, while Trump (7/2), Ding (13/2) and Robertson (13/2) are next in line.

The Premier League Snooker is a very popular event which features 10 of the world’s best snooker plays playing over a number of weeks.

Each player will play on four of the ten nights in what will be a mini-tournament consisting of two semis and a final.

Players will pick up points for frames won and at the conclusion of the league section, the top four will advance to the play-offs which take place at Potters Leisure Resort over the 26th and 27th November.

The players taking part this year are reigning champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Williams, John Higgins, Ding Junhui, Neil Robertson, Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy, Judd Trump, Matthew Stevens and Jimmy White.
Every night of the competition sees four players take to the table and includes two semi-finals and a final. The matches are first to three but dead frames will not be played.
