Red hot favourite Ronnie O'Sullivan takes on Welsh dragon Matthew Stevens in a four session thriller to determine who will prevail to the 2012 World Championship final.
O'Sullivan was in stunning form in his Quarter-Final victory over Neil Robertson and has stood the test of his temperament by making light work of three potentially diffucult matches against three world champions, including Peter Ebdon and Mark Williams.
He appears quietly confident of his chances of making it a fourth world title and looks in great shape both mentally and with a cue in his hand.
Many felt his game against Aussie ace Robertson was the 'final before the final' but The Rocket will not be taking his next match for granted as he faces another man in-form and enjoying his time back among the world's top 16.
Former UK Champion Stevens has seen off Marco Fu, Barry Hawkins and fellow countryman Ryan Day in reaching this stage but will not be content with just a Semi-Final place as he eyes his third world final.
Stevens is another highly rated break builder and will need to exploit that trait by grabbing any chances in among the balls or he could risk being blown away by the rampant Rocket, who has been winning frames more often than not in a single visit to the table so far.
The pair have met eight times in previous major compeition dating back to 1999, and O'Sullivan has came out on top in six of those meetings, including 5-3 during their last encounter at the German Masters in February en route to winning the title.
The bookmakers believe the The Rocket will reach the final and make him the huge odds-on 1/5 favourite, with Stevens priced at 7/2 for victory with title sponsors Betfred
The match will be played over four sessions across the three days, with the first starting on Thursday evening, the second at 2.30pm on Friday and the climax on Saturday.
It will be streamed live over the best of 33 frames from the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
