The World Snooker Championship semi-finals continue today, with Ronnie O’Sullivan 5-3 up against Matthew Stevens after the first session
Both semi-finals of the 2012 World Snooker Championship are nicely poised, with Ali Carter taking a 5-3 lead against Stephen Maguire into this morning’s second session, while Ronnie O’Sullivan leads by the same scoreline against Matthew Stevens.
We didn’t see a particularly high standard of play on Thursday with lots of Crucible nerves in evidence, although Carter is getting more joy than Maguire in the scrappy frames and the Captain will look to press home his advantage this morning.
Meanwhile, O’Sullivan was 4-0 up at the mid-session interval last night before allowing Stevens to work his way back into the match and the Welsh Dragon will be buzzing after winning three of the final four frames.
Here is today’s order of play, with Carter and Maguire on the baize at 10:00 BST.
