The Table Tennis Challenger Series continues in Ochsenhausen this Wednesday.
Czech star Radek Mrkvicka, who is sitting in 10th spot with 500 points, was the highest ranked player participating in this week's competition and so far he's left himself in with a fighting chance of making the top eight with three wins from his five matches thus far. Mrkvicka plays two matches on Wednesday to boost his chances further.
The next best ranked players are both in 12th place with 480 points with Hungarian Lehel Demeter and Czech Republic ace Marek Klasek both looking to improve their points tally. Demeter has fared better of the two with a 5-0 record heading into the final day of play, while Klasek could only manage 3-3.
The Table Tennis Challenger Series is a weekly event which runs from Monday until Wednesday this week, with eight of the world’s best table tennis players taking to the table.
After the weekly rounds have been completed the top eight players compete in a Final Tournament to determine an overall winner – players have to compete in at least 10 tournaments to qualify for the final.
The overall rankings sees Thomas Keinath lead the way as the Slovakian has collected an amazing 3300 points from six tournaments.
