Angelique Kerber is favourite to reach her first Grand Slam final when she takes on Agnieszka Radwanska in Thursday's semi-finals.
Radwanska has been in and around the top ten for so long now it's strange to think that this is her first Grand Slam semi-final. However despite regularly winning WTA Premier titles around the globe across all surfaces, she's never been able to perform on the big stage when it's really mattered.
This past fortnight she's taken some big steps towards rectifying that but the bookies still do not believe she'll go on to reach the Wimbledon final with Kerber a 4/6 favourite with Boylesports.
Twelve months ago Kerber lost in the first round of this event to British wildcard Laura Robson but since then she's transformed as a player and has more experience than Radwanska in these type of matches having reached the US Open semi-finals last year.
The head-to-head stands at 2-2 (Kerber won in three sets at the 2011 US Open) but three of these matches went the distance and with both players favouring a war of attrition from the back of the court, it will almost certainly go three sets again.
