The French Super Series is part of the BWF Super Series and is annually held in Paris. The year 2011 marked the beginning of second-three year cycle of the BWF Super Series since the first one from 2007 to 2010.

Due to a few changes announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), there are now five tournaments promoted to Premier Super Series events which pay out more prize money than the Super Series tournaments.
