The Wuxi Classic is the latest addition to the hectic snooker ranking calendar.
Formerly an invitational, the event is the first of the season and features 32 of the world's top stars battling it out for £400,000 in prize money.
The event was introduced in the 2008/09 season as the Jiangsu Classic and is played on a round-robin basis.
The event's name was renamed to Wuxi Classic for the 2010/2011 season and former champions include Ding Junhui, Mark Allen, Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby.
The tournament is one of five ranking events to take place in the growing snooker province of China and will feature top international stars including Neil Robertson, John Higgins, Mark Selby, Judd Trump and home favourite Ding Junhui taking to the baize at the Wuxi Sports Centre in Wuxi, China.
