Ronnie O’Sullivan will take on Robert Milkins on his Masters return in January, while newly crowned UK Champion Neil Robertson opens up against Mark Allen at Alexandra Palace.

The reigning World Champion and four-time Masters king, will face quick-fire Gloucester cueman Milkins in his first Masters campaign for two years.

The Rocket only submitted his application for the prestigious invitation tournament two days before the entry deadline, but will start out as favourite as he goes out in search of further glory on home soil.

Milkins will compete in the tournament for the first time, having climbed into the top 16 earlier this season, and will be aiming to avenge his 6-0 drubbing at the hands of the Londoner in the recent UK Championship.

Reigning champion Mark Selby will begin the defence of his title against Six Reds king Mark Davis, while Scotsman John Higgins gets his pursuit of a third Masters crown underway against in-form Champion of Champions finalist - Stuart Bingham.

Arguably the tie of the opening round features two of the sport's most formidable left-handers, as world number one and 2012 champion Robertson hosts World Open champion Allen.

Judd Trump, a semi-finalist in 2011, kicks off his 2014 campaign against Hong Kong's Marco Fu - the 2011 runner-up.

Ding Junhui, winner two years ago, bids for a fourth televised major title of the season, and the Chinese ace opens up against 2012 runner-up Shaun Murphy in another clash to savour.

Elsewhere, Stephen Maguire is drawn against debutant Joe Perry - the 16th seed, while form horses Barry Hawkins and Ricky Walden collide in a repeat of their Crucible Semi-Final contest in May.

Snooker’s most prestigious invitation tournament runs from January 12 -19 at Alexandra Palace in London, with a top prize of £200,000 and the famous trophy to be contested by the top 16 seeds.

Masters 2014 Round One draw:

Mark Selby v Mark Davis
Stuart Bingham v John Higgins
Judd Trump v Marco Fu
Ding Junhui v Shaun Murphy
Neil Robertson v Mark Allen
Stephen Maguire v Joe Perry
Barry Hawkins v Ricky Walden
Ronnie O’Sullivan v Robert Milkins
